Vevay, IN – Muster at Venoge (2017)

On June 18, 1812, war was declared between the United States and Great Britain, called by some the second War for Independence. A company of militia was raised by Switzerland County resident Captain Elisha Golay, a brother of the first know resident of the Venoge cottage.

Musée de Venoge a museum, historic park and nature preserve for the general public of Switzerland County, Indiana and the surrounding region. The facility is based on the approximately 30 purchased acres of the original French-Swiss farmstead (c.1805) and its existing cottage on State Route 129 and Indian Creek in Switzerland County. Join units from KY, IN, and OH for an Ohio Valley Muster.
